Thank you for visiting Ourherojacob.com. We hope that you can grasp the enormity of the lengthening treatment that Jacob is undergoing. While Jacob was out of the hospital within a week, he is required to stay in Baltimore for five months while he undergoes specialized physical therapy at the Rubin Institute for Advanced Orthopedics.
 
Our family is an everyday middle-class family, but we are struggling to stay afloat financially. Jacob has had three specialized hip surgeries leading up to this lengthening, which meant our family had to travel to Baltimore once or twice a year, for no longer than two weeks. This time, our family has had to physically move to Baltimore for up to 5 months. It has been a ‘round the clock team effort. Rachel has been unable to work in order to take care of Jacob full time. David has had to take off many weeks of work to help. Grandma Candy has spent 2 months helping us as well. Our family health insurance is exceedingly expensive and that would be all right, if health insurance covered most of our expenses.
